What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture forms a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which originated in China over 5000 years ago.

Acupuncture consists of stimulating specific points of the skin, mainly by inserting very thin, hair like, needles along a series of lines, or channels, called meridians.

By this stimulation, acupuncture will:

  • Promote the self healing power of our body and your body will heal itself without any need of taking any medication that can be toxic and have side effects.

  • Release the natural pain killers of our body (endorphins) that u can find in any anti-pain tablet,

  • Relax the body and give it the break it needs from physical and emotional stress so it can heal itself.

Acupuncture is a natural treatment; it doesn’t use any kind of chemicals.

Acupuncture helps you rebalance your body and recover your state of health.

Eastern Explanation for acupuncture:

The Eastern Explanation for how Acupuncture works is that the life energy flowing through the body which is termed Qi (pronounced chee) can be influenced and balanced by stimulating specific points on the body.

These points are located along channels of energy known as meridians that connect all of our major organs. According to Chinese medical theory, illness arises when the cyclical flow of Qi in the meridians becomes unbalanced or is blocked.Health in Chinese Medicine is a state of balance and harmony of the human being between him and himself (body, mind and spirit) from one side; and between him and his environment (weather, society, family, viruses…) from the other side.

Disease occurs when this balance is disrupted and when the Qi is unbalanced.Acupuncture helps our body to recover this state of harmony by promoting its natural healing process. Just as a cut on the surface of our skin will heal itself, the rest of our body from the cellular level to vital organs, is also designed to be self healing.

Western Explanation for acupuncture:

Acupuncture is the stimulation of specific points located near or on the surface of the skin which have the ability to alter various biochemical and physiological conditions in order to achieve the desired effect.
